Tomorrow is the Day

Leaving for Vegas tomorrow. It's going to be so awesome. I haven't been back since the World Series last year and even then, I didn't get to play as much as I wanted to. I've planned out a bunch of tourneys that I'd like to play, the biggest ones being at the Venetian - daily 340.00 and also the superstack 550.00. Ceasars & Planet Hollywood also have some decent structure ones as well. Cash games are where to make the easy money though and I hope to kill it on the felt.

Vegas Trip Booked

I booked my trip to Vegas today. It's my last fun alone times before the big wedding day. I'm going with a good poker buddy of mine Barry, so it should mainly just entail lots of drinking and cards. They wife to be said I have to leave her 1000.00 though before I go. I think I'm losing in that deal, but we both get what we want I suppose. It's sort of a gift to myself for my decent tax return + a little away time before the big day. I certainly don't have cold feet or anything. Today, the wedding is actually one month away. Time really has flown by since we initially picked the date!

I went deep in two tourneys last night - the FT Stuper 163.00 and Bodog 50K, but flamed out before the final table. Made a few bucks. It's nice to play well though and cash at least althoug the big score would have been a lot nicer! It was Crystal's birthday the other day and I got her a digital camera and printer that she wanted. She thought it cost 100.00, but it really cost like 400.00. She'll probably get mad when she finds out.

We're off to Panama City this weekend (5 hour drive) to see her dad and finalize the plans about wedding money and who is paying for what. We added up everything and it's just shy of 20K + our honeymoon is 5800.00 on top of that. What a bunch of money to spend on one day.... It'll be a fun time though and I'm really looking forward to it.

FTOPS Event #3

300+22 buy in. I tried to satellite in, but was unsuccessful, so I just bought in direct. 3000 entrants!!! bringing to prize pool to a juice 900K!!!! 1st place over 150K.

I gave it a decent run with NO cards whatsoever and finished 173rd for like 718.00 bucks or something retarded like that. I lost a bunch in cash games though, so hopefully not on my way to bustoville.

OUT OF THE HOLE!

I was already down 1K on the day, so what's another 163.00 to play the Full Tilt 40K (which usually gets to be over 50K)? Well I made the Final Table and finished 5th after JJ < KK for $3750.00. I maybe could have gotten away from it if I just called preflop, but there was a lot of dead money in the pot and JJ is a monster 5 handed so I shoved and just ran into a bigger hand.

Maybe I'll just stick to donkaments now. I think I did better because I was drinking the whole time. I did okay grinding 1/2NL on Bodog too. Cards are finally starting to hold. I stacked off probably 5 times yesterday with AA vs. sets. Gotta learn to fold AA more.

Full Tilt: $5100.00
Bodog: $5800.00

Finally a winning session

Well, I finally had a winning session. It's not much, but hey it's a start. I started at 7 p.m. last night and entered the 109.00 12K on Bodog and the 22K 75.00 on FT. After accumulating a lot of chips in the Bodog 12K, I ended up pushing JJ into AA and finished 8th for a measly 312.00. I bubbled out in the 22K. I feel I played great in both tournaments though. I played some cash games on the side though. I'm still playing full ring which certainly reduces variance a bit. I played one hand really bad where I stacked off with JJ vs. AA after he just called called called all the way preflop, flop, turn and shoved the river and I thought he was on a busted draw, but I was wrong. I give him credit though for playing it tricky. I ended +500.00 on Bodog and -200.00 on Full Tilt, so +300.00 in 4 hours of play. I'm obviously still below the initial 10K start up fund, but at least (for one day) I'm moving in the right direction.

I'm trying to plan a Vegas trip for May 24th - 28th. One last hurray before the big wedding day. The players there are so unbelieveably bad. I'd probably bring 3K-5K with me and play 2/5NL and maybe splash at 5/10NL if I ran decent. I think I play pretty well live. I don't give off tells (that I know of) but can pick up other people's tells and can read hands fairly well. There's certainly always room for improvement however.

I'll probably put in some hands tonight and maybe another donkament.

Initial Investment - $10,000.00
Running Total - $8745.00

No Time, no game

Didn't play any majors yesterday - actually, didn't play much of anything this weekend. It was my Dad's b-day, so we hung out over at his house most of the day. Caught (2) 3 lb bass in the pond behind his house. This challenge is so frustrating when you're running as bad as me. I feel like Mike Matasow. lol I'm still below the original $10,000.00, but I have confidence that things will turn around soon. :o)

BOOM ME PLEASE

Dear Bodog & Full Tilt, please deactivate the DOOM switch and reactivate the BOOM switch. The original $10,000.00 is actually DOWN to $8900.00ish, but hopefully I'll turn things around this weekend. I don't think I'm playing bad, just running bad. Perhaps a big cash in one of the Sunday majors will turn my luck around.

The sickness doesn't stop, running bad looks like this

I get him to put all his money in drawing to 4 outs and of course Full Tilt fucks me in the ass yet again and gives him the 4 fucking outer. You wonder why you can't ever fucking move up cause this bullshit gives all the fish hope that one day they will be fucking pros in the online poker dream they have. Well FUCK THAT. This is reality. Your 4 outer won't hit everytime unless you're playing someone that's running as bad as me.

Day 1 - Disappointing

I played for like 4 hours yesterday and it was a bit disappointing. I had a good feeling about the 40K on FT, so I bought in to that (163.00) and also played the 50K on Bodog (55.00). I was chip leader for the first 3 hours of the Full Tilt tourney, then the wheels fell off. With around 70 players left of the original 350 or so, blinds were 250/500 w/ante I raised with AcJh to 1500 and mig.com called from the CO. The flop came J high and I doubled him up when he showed QQ. I should have just folded the flop to him, but oh well. After that I lost a race with AhJh vs. pkt 66 and could really recover. With 40 left, I was moved to the sickest table ever with mig.com, annette15 and SamENole, 3 of the top ranked tourney players on the net. It folded to me on the button and I shoved 8/6off. Anette reshoved from the SB and the BB shoved too. Annette had 99 and the BB had AQ. The flop was 8 6 2, then Annette types, "9 ball me" and boom, 9 on the turn. I swear some people are just luckier than others when it comes to tournaments. I bubbled out 3 short of the money, but I went out fighting and I guess that's all that matters. Cash games were pretty jokish on FT as well. I had KK vs. 9/10 all in on a QJx flop, turn K, TY for the 6 outer and I miss my redraw which is obv. standard when you are running bad. I battled it back to even though which was nice. The 50K on Bodog didn't go all that well either. In the 3rd hour the blinds got pretty high and I was pretty card dead the whole tourney. I ended up shoving Q/10 and lost to AJ, but there's nothing you can do about that. I played one 30.00 heads up tourney and won that.

Results from Day 1: Bodog Tournaments -55.00, Cash games +350.00, Full Tilt Tournaments -163.00, Cash games - Even
Heads up 30 + 1.50, 1-0

So Today it begins

So today it begins, the new attitude and hopefully a turn around for the bankroll that has been on a big downswing recently. As stated before, I will start with $10,000.00 and attempt to build it and be rolled for 5/10NL by the end of the year. Starting out with 5K on Bodog and 5K on Full Tilt. I will mostly 3 table each site at the same time 1/2NL full ring on Bodog and 6 max on FT until I have 20 buy ins for the next level, then move up. First level of moving up will be at $8,000.00 for each site, then $12,000.00 and finally $20,000.00. Of course that's a hefty goal to have $20,000.00 in each site by the end of the year, but I hope that with proper management, avoidance of tilt and running well, it is very achievable.
