Donk and Gos

I hadn't played any donk and go's lately, so when I got home yesterday I played a simple session of 4. 2 55+5 turbos and 2 110+9 turbos. I quickly went out of one of the 110s when I got all in with KK vs. A10, obv A on the flop and I'm done. I busted one of the 55s 99 vs A10. It was funny in the other 55, my buddy blubboz and I got HU and I had a 2:1 chip lead, but he shoved and I called with AJ and he had AA lol. Then we were even and he shoved again and I called with 33 and he won the flip with AK. His bubble game is pretty weak, but he shoves well when it matters and gets his money in good. So I got 2nd vs. him for for like 148.50 and then I won my other 110+9 for 495 for a nice 300.00 profit in like 45 minutes. I played this donkey again that I took 2K from the other day. He went up quickly 600 on me, then I came back and started destroying him and was up a good 1900.00 on him until he started making these ridiculous rivers and I quit him +400.00. We are supposed to play again at 3:30p.m. today. I have a huge advantage over him as long as I make some hands! :oP

Tomorrow is my birthday. 27 years old tomorrow. Man I'm getting old. :o(

Yesterday

I played bad. I deserved to lose and I did. During one hand, I called like 700.00 with 88 on a KJ692 3 club board because I didn't believe him. He had the nuts. The I c/r a 10 6 6 flop with K8 and shoved the turn into 1010 for another buy in. It wasn't glorious, so I shut her down and the wifey and I went to Longhorn Steakhouse for some food and beers. I don't what it is about restaurants, but we rarely get perfect service. We even sit at the bar most of the time. Last night Crystal steak was drowing in pepper. You couldn't even eat it. We got into a discussion about how much money is in our bank account and how much is online, (not going to share numbers donkeys lol) and she was surprised how much we had online compared to the bank. She asked me to take some out so I'm going to do that. She obviously wears the pants. :o( haha I'm thinking about joining an online coaching site like cardrunners, leggopoker or deucescracked. Doing some research on them and hopefully will find a good one that specializes in Heads Up which is all I play now on Full Tilt. Ok, this is boring, gonna stop writing.

Oh yeah, my bro is in Vegas right now. He sucks at poker, but said he bought in for 400 at a 2/5NL game and cashed out 900 something 2 hours later. Shows how easy live poker is to beat. Congrats xxjondxx for being ranked now and shipping the AP1K for over 38K you sicko. Teach me you 18 year old superstar!

I have no idea if he's a winner or not. He lives and dies by his draws. So after 10 or so delicious blue moons, I fire up a HU table and he sits and asks to run more tables. We get 3 tables going against each other and he sucks out left and right like this:

I get some back and I think I ended down a few hundred to him, but I'm not really sure. I can definitely beat him as all he does is shove shove shove flush and straight draws. I played bad vs. him + I was drunk and still almost broke even so I know I can clean him out sober. Hopefully I get the opportunity to soon.

On another note, my wife got me a present the other day. It's Rounders on DVD lol. She's the greatest ever. We watched it together and laughed our asses off.

Had to post this hand

Sometimes I run into problems playing HU, being too much of a station, calling too much, paying off too much, etc... Well sometimes being a station is a good thing! The chat is excellent.

Mover's HU hand of the week

This is from my post on twoplustwo because I thought this hand was very interesting.

been playing for probably 1.5 hours. I'm not going to give Villians name because he's pretty awful - big calling station. He stacked me twice QQ vs. 1010 all in pre and then my KQ on KJx flop vs. his AJ, river J obv., but I'm rolling back and have the momentum now. We're talking A LOT of sh.it to each other and 3 betting a lot and calling down light. He's pretty straight forward though, doesn't bluff much, just basically check/calls a lot and picks off my bluffs so whatever... anyway. First is my line okay? River??

Hero...

I have like 450.00 left and the pot is 400.00. Some people said shove, but I certainly want to get paid off by a King/Ace or even a smaller flush. I ended up betting like 364.00 I think and he instacalled with Js5s, so it was a cooler hand and I won a nice pot of 1100.00+. He was up a lot on me earlier, so it was nice to take down this pot.

After my horrid drunk 13K donk off, I'm happy to say it's 100% recovered + more. :o) I've been comfortably playing 5/10 FR on Bodog and still 2/4 HU on FT. I might try and take another shot at 3/6NL HU now that I'm rolled for it on Full Tilt and hopefully I'll run better than I have in the past when moving up.

My wife got some surgery yesterday so I had to get up at 4 am to take her to the hospital. I brought my computer with me and played poker in the waiting room. There was this older lady watching which was pretty funny. She's like "are you winning?" with this big curiousity smirk on her face. "up a little bit" I told her and smiled. Then my wife's surgery was over and the doc came over and looked at my laptop and said, "wow, cool!" haha Everything worked out well though and made a few hundred in the waiting room. Also took down a 45 person 75.00 donkament on Full Tilt for 1179.00 last night as well after bricking the 32K and 14K bounty. Probably not going to play any majors this weekend as it's my nieces 2 year old birthday and we rock the moonwalk at my sister's house and basically drink all day. Should be fun!

Peace, Mover.

Interesting Hand

I'm still getting back into the swing of things for online. I was waiting for the wife to come home before we headed over to her parents for dinner and this interesting hand came up. A few friends said they wants me to analyze and post more hands and give him some free lessons. Well here you go. My normal game is now 2/4 - 5/10NL, but I'm still a little rusty from being away for a while, so I was donking around at 1/2NL HU.

SB: $247.50
Hero (BB): $872.25

Pre-Flop: Kh Ts dealt to Hero (BB)
SB raises to $6, Hero calls $4

Flop: ($12) Kd Js Td (2 Players)
Hero checks, SB bets $10, Hero raises to $35, SB calls $25

Turn: ($82) 7c (2 Players)
Hero bets $75, SB calls $75

River: ($232) Qs (2 Players)
Hero shoves

I posted this hand on twoplustwo and the correct line is actually check/call as it lets him bluff a ton of missed draws. I'm really only getting called by a hand that beats me with the exception of maybe some heroic call by QJ, but QJ would probably raise the flop and get it in. I use to take the line of check/fold, but after analyzing the hand, he really can't show up with anything there because AJ/A10 would dump the turn and a lone Ad would dump the turn as well as the 7c is a real brick. He folded his hand, but I really think there's more value in check/calling this as his shove would be for 130.00ish making the pot 390.00 giving us more than 3:1 on our money and I think we are good here more than 33% of the time to make the call profitable especially if he's bluffing!!

I played a 2/4NL HU match vs. this animal where I went up 800 on him, then he got 2 buyins back on some wack ass draw, then I ended up making a sick call with 4/6off on a 2 3 6 9 J board when no flush got there. He bet 140.00 into 210.00 and I instacalled for the almost $500.00 pot and scooped. Ended the day +1050.00 or so. Not bad for only 2 or so. Played a 75.00 45 person tourney, but shoved 55 into KK and finished 9th when 6 pay.

Valentine's Day Reflections

So my wife said she didn't want anything for Valentine's Day but I still left a card on the counter and said some nice things in it about how she's #1 and I want to be her valentine forever haha. She's awesome though and my best friend and I love her more each day. That's what a wife should be right? I haven't put in very many hands since we got back on Monday. I put in a small session Tuesday of just some donkey 1/2NL HU - 3 tables and was down 700, then ended +300. Nothing like swinging 5 buyins in an hour lol. I played pretty good though, but don't want to jump right back into the bigger games until I get back in the rhythm of online. I'm still in the donkey live poker world funk.

This weekend is the Daytona 500 which we are going to with my brother and her brother and his wife and her parents as well. I bought them all tickets after a good month for Christmas. They are really a rip off, but Nascar is really fun in person. You walk around all day and drink canned beer after canned beer (preferably miller lite or coors light) and see all these displays and tailgate and stuff. Must be canned beer though because bottled is too high class and you must drink it while in a koozie. It's fun just hanging out walking around and people watching too because there are definitely some characters at Nascar. Redneck fever baby! The tickets are 110.00 face, but I'm dumb so I buy them on Ebay for 175.00 each. That's how we roll right? The cars are super loud and fast and the fighter jets that fly over the track before the race brings you goose bumps and makes the hair on your neck stand up and might even bring a tear to your eye! Bless the troops yo! Traffic blows ass though leaving. 100,000 people headed for one 3-lane road.

As far as other poker goes, gotta give it up for xxxjondxxx who has been a sicko lately winning a 50.00 rebuy for 17K and going deep in the 1K for another 30K you fucking sicko. Teach me?? I haven't done anything in tourneys on Full Tilt and I refuse to give Stars another chance. Bodog is still good though for the weekends but I only play their donkaments on the weekends. They did however announce the Bodog Poker Open which is a series of 250.00 buy in tourneys ending with a 500.00 main event and they are adding 10K to each tourney. It starts in early March. I haven't played any of the FTOPS events. NONE!! Maybe I'll donk around in the 100 rebuy omaha event. I dunno. I guess that's it for now.

Back from Canada

Back from Canada, eh? Had a great time w/the wife. Cold brrrrr, but fun to see some snow and the sites and play a lot of B&M poker. I ran like shit at 5/10NL, but ran well at 5/5NL. Wish it was the other way around, but oh well. I built 500 into 2800+ at one time. This mountain of chips and bills in front. I wish I could have played 5/10 the whole time, but I didn't bring enough money with me. I got stuck pretty quick after I shoved JJ on a 10 7 3 3 board and the other guy flips 77, river another 7. I could have gotten away I think, but everyone was stacking off with top pair I really thought I was good there. He bet 300 on the turn and I shoved for like 800 more or something and didn't even here him say call. the dealer just burned and turned another 7 and the douchebag slowrolls over 77 for quads. I just couldn't get it together at 5/10. The first day though my wife sat with me at 5/5NL 500 max. She didn't want 500, so I gave her 300 to start out. She gets bored pretty easily, but handles herself pretty well at the 1/2NL home game we go to sometimes for fun. Like the 5th hand, someone raises to 15.00 and my wife reraises to 35 and the initial raiser calls. Flop is Q 10 7 and he checks, my wife bets 50.00, he makes it 125.00 and she calls. turn is like a 2 or something and he puts her in and she instacalls with KK and holds vs. AQ. She won another decent pot too and cashed out like 850ish in like 2 hours worth of play lol. I cashed out +480.00 for the session putting us on top 1K on the short session.

Poker is easy. Then I donk off a lot at 5/10NL, I just ran super bad. one limper, I raise to 50 with KQ, flop KQ9, I bet 70, he c/r to 250 and I put him in for his last 600 something and he instacalls and smashes KJ on the table. turn brick, river 10 obv. :o( "I was committed he said" live players are so f-ing bad.

The next day I'm in the BB with A2, check my option, flop A 2 6. I check, some guy bets 15.00 into 30.00, I c/r to 55.00 and he shoves like 500 something and I call and he has A7, turn 7. meh. standard I guess?

Fortunately on our last day, I ran well at 5/5NL 500 max and ran my stack up to 1500, then back down to 500, then back up to 2800.00 and cashed out like 2200.00 I think. Still stuck on the trip, but it was nice to get some back. I played a few hands bad, but overall, live players suck and call too much.

I posted some pics on my myspace page www.myspace.com/xpeoplemoverx if you want to check them out.

5 figure swings

This weekend was such a grind. Friday I just got killed. At one point I was down 5200.00, but battled back to end down ONLY 3300.00. I woke up with high hopes saturday and quickly went up 1500 on the day and felt pretty good about my play, but then I started to run horrible heads up and dropped like 6 buyins to these complete idiots and of course they leave right after and I don't even get a chance to get the money back. :( So now I'm stuck over 4K again. I battle again all through the night but still end up stuck over 1500.00 before calling it a night. We went to Old Town saturday night which was pretty fun. We watched her brother do this 0-110mph in 2 seconds drag car thing. It was hilarious! But it was 40 bucks for 2 seconds and honestly I can find better things to spend 40.00 on. They had this interactive nascar race thing also were you get in this hydrolic car and race around Nascar tracks. There are 7 or 8 cars racing and if you win you get a free race. I won both times. lol

Then we get to sunday. I'm still stuck on the weekend over 1500.00 and the wife was out shopping for sweaters and clothes and stuff for our upcoming trip, so I had the house to myself. I always think I play better when I'm by myself because I can concentrate and it's quiet. No TV, no radio, just the mouse clicking sounds. Anyway, I bust the 30K early because I suck. I think I shoved 55 into JJ and 77 so no help for me. I satellited into the 256.00 KO Tourney. I play one hand in 1.5 hours and shove QQ into KK and JJ and get no help there either. Such a joke. I've been running so horrible in Full Tilt tourneys. I think I've cashed maybe 1 in the last 50 which is totally ridiculous. So I enter the Bodog 100K 109.00 which has a juicy 35K overlay because only 621 people signed up for it. I get lucky a few times early when I shove 55 into JJ and make a straight, then I get 108 vs. A8 on a 8 high flop and river a 10. Pretty funny because that guy was talking shit all tourney. I cruise into the money, make a few good shoves and double ups. I've always run well in this tourney and have finished in the top 12 probably 10 times, but never won it. 1st is 25K. I make a huge bluff with 11 left and this guy makes this heroic call with middle pair no kicker which killed my stack going into the final table. Long story short, I shove A3 and get called by KJ and with a king on the flop, I'm busted in 8th for 2500.
So I end the weekend +2300 or so a nice 12K swing.

But hey, at least I'm unstuck now!

peace, Mover
