One week until O canada

The wife and I are really looking forward to getting out of Florida. We're flying into Buffalo (through DC) a week from today! woot! Then cab it to Niagara Falls. Hopefully we'll get to see some snow. :o) Ordered some ski gloves just in case and they came in yesterday which adds to the excitement. I only put in about 4 hours worth of playing the last two days but ended +1K or so which brings the week's total to +8800.00 which is definitely nice. Unfortunately, still stuck a little bit, but doing okay. Most of the profits are coming on Bodog, but Full Tilt is slowly coming back + I cashed out 340.00 worth of rakeback, so that needs to hit my account also. I've been playing some more HU Omaha. Super streaky and I got it in bad a few times yesterday top 2 vs. a 9 or bottom 2 vs. a straight and I knew I was beat, but it's tough to lay those down. I still stacked the guy twice after he stacked me to end around even. Played a dumb 75.00 45 person tourney and ended 4th after shoving A8 into the SBs QQ 4 handed and of course it comes AxQ, awesome tease.

I'm still not sure if we are going to play poker at Fallsview Casino or Seneca, so if you are Canadian, let me know your review on both. :o)

Weekend Summary = $$

I had a rocking good weekend. I really put in a lot of hands and tried hard to play my best and the results were really good. Friday I ended +5200.00, Saturday was +1800.00 and yesterday sucked ass because of dumb tournaments that I play. I found a fish at omaha HU though and ended +800 on the day. Total was +7800.00 for the weekend, so I'm pretty pleased with that. :o)

Of course there could always be more profits if I would have cashed anything reasonable yesterday, but the beats were just atrocious. (more atrocious than usual obv. lol) Here are a few.

We get to heads up in this $220.00 sit and go (single table tourney where they pay top 3) and it's me and Full Tilt pro Jon Little. His pocket fives profile says "dangerous at SNGs", but I sharkscoped him and he's negative 5000.00 in SNGs just this year lol. The Bodog 30K, I lost KK vs AK all in preflop. awesome. The 100K, I didn't win a single pot and ended up shoving 88 over a raise and he had QQ, so nh for him. awesome Friday session

Usually the wife and I like to go to a home game around the corner to socialize with some of the local poker players and have some beers. The game is really well run and they order food and everything. The last two times however we are stuck about 1500.00 so we decided not to go and I'm glad I didn't :o) I grinded from like 6 p.m. to around 2 am and ended +5200.00. It's a great much needed recovery to the bankroll and although I'm still stuck on the month, I have awesome high hopes that we'll be out soon. Here are a few hands:

upcoming weekend

I have some high hopes for the weekend as I'm still stuck an assload amount of cash for January, so hopefully we'll be able to report back saying I won a lot. I booked a small win on Wednesday after chasing two fish on some HU tables. One of them I quit after we got 300BBs deep and the other one I finally busted after he was up 3-4 buyins on me. Fucking shortstackers. I played some smallstakes omaha last night with the wife. It's amusing to watch her try to analyze hands because you get 4 cards, but you can only use 2, so she'll say, "oh I have a straight!!" but really it's a 4 card straight because she was using 3 cards instead of just 2. Some guy bought in for 50 bucks, ran it up to like 400 vs. us, then we ended up busting him and having 9 buyins on the table. We got it all in for like a 800BB pot. Pretty fun stuff for small stakes.

We leave for Canada in 12 days and we are both really looking forward to it. I hope we can both run well and pay for the trip + more as well as enjoy the scenery and break away from Florida.

recovery for nothing

What a joke poker is. I recovered 3K saturday which I felt good about, but I gave the shit all back + more. I went deep in the 100K on Bodog again building up to 90K in chips and made a standard raise to 10450 with AJ knowing the guy in the BB is going to shove any 2 on me and of course he does with 109off, flop J x x all spades and boom spade on the turn to ship it his way. Then I raise KJ and some guy minraises me back leaving himself like 300 chips left, so I just put him in. Flop 10 Q 9, nuts obv. Oh yeah he has 44, what? Turn Q, river Q, sickness. So I'm almost crippled, but chip back up and shove QJ and get called by 1010 and don't get there to finish 26th. so sick because I played so awesome and forced my opponents into making dumb ass mistakes and moves and I don't get rewarded for it. I finished 12th last week and I should have won and been 50K richer, but whatever.

Then I satellited into the 500+35 million guarantee on Full Tilt with 175 bucks or whatever which was nice and I c/r a guy with A4dd on a 3d 10d 5c board, he bet 720 and I c/r to 2500, then shoved for the pot on the turn 3c and he makes this hero call with Q10 and of course I don't get there. I think it's a horrible call by him, but whatever, I never get there or at least it feels like it. It was 4 hours already into the tourney and of course I didn't cash. So I end down 13K on the weekend or maybe it's 12K, either way, it's going to take me forever to recover the damage I did to my bankroll.

Oh this other hand at 3/6NL HU, I get it in for 960.00 vs. a guy who covers with 67 on a 345 flop all hearts (I have no heart) and he calls 160BBs with Ah5c and of course a heart hits the turn obv. so ship it his way, so gay. So instead of moving up, I'm moving back down again which doesn't really give me a thrill and I really don't take it that seriously. At least I have Canada to look forward to in 2 weeks. Can't wait to get out of this place.

i'm an idiot

took a shot at 25/50NL and lost big. then tilted off some more and ran bad too. I lost 10,000.00 last night cause I'm stupid. This is like 25% of what I had online, so I withdrew some and i'm leaving 25K on there to rebuild. it's gonna take me forever to recover. I've never been so disappointed with myself. :(

a few winning sessions

Nice to put a few winning sessions together. I was totally owning this guy from China, but quit him after he starting running very awesome vs. me. I ended +800.00 on FT and +830.00 on Bodog. I lost two big all ins with AA vs. 77 all in pre and AA vs a flushdraw at 600NL or it would have been a great night, but I'll still book a good win for the few hours that I played last night. I won a 2200.00 pot with AcKc all in pre vs. 66, the action was sick. One dude min raised to 20.00, then it went call, I made it 90.00, then the minraiser flat called 90 and the other dude minraised it to like 175.00 with only another 200 behind, so I shove to iso, but then the initial minraiser calls off $1000.00 with 66 and the other guy folds lol. I river a king and scoop. So we are unstuck from the neg. 4500.00 day which is nice. And out Canada trip is booked up. 3 more weeks until that which sucks. I want to leave like tomorrow to get out of this town.

small session

put in a quick session 2 tables of 5/10, 1 table of 3/6 and a few turbo 110s and some 2/4 HU. I got stacked on my 2nd hand at 3/6 when there were like 27 limpers to me, so I potted pre with AA and the SB called. FLOP 10 9 8, he checks, so I check back. I dunno why I checked. Turn 4 or something. He pots it for 115.00 so I shove on him and he calls with 77??? what? river 6 ball obv. but then I stacked this other guy with set over set, so it was okay. I ended +170.00 after starting down 1.1K. I won a 110.00 turbo donk and go for 495.00, but the other one didn't go too well as I got it in KK vs. QQ on the 1st hand and lost the 81% favorite when another Q popped up. Oh well. at 2/4NL, there are so many hit and runners it makes you sick. They come and sit down with like a measly 200.00 half stack or whatever, get up 20 or 30 dollars on you, then leave. Just play it out you monkey. Or my personal favorite is when they sit down, raise your blind and you fold, then you leave. It's called getting grimstarred named after the famous hit and runner grimstarr who is banned from FT now because of it. I played this other guy and was +600.00 on him until I got it in with A2 vs his AJ on a A 2 6 board and obviously it comes 10, 10 and I lose, then he instasits out. Oh well. I think total for the 2-3 hour session was +620.00ish which I'm pretty happy with considering I played for like 10 hours Sunday and lost 2000.00. :o/ I withdrew some money for our upcoming Canada trip and to pay off my truck (finally!), so after these bills get paid, it's all bankroll building from here on out, so gl me.

Difference in running good & bad

Friday, i ran super sick hot and made around $5000.00 in 2.5 hours 5 tabling 2/4NL & 3/6NL. It was insane, however, Full Tilt giveth to me on Friday and taketh away yesterday. At one point, i was stuck 4800.00, but made a small comeback and ended down 3300.00. I won on Bodog though. I played my heart out in the 100K and just got unlucky in the end when top pro Rizen shoved on me with 76 and I called with J10 and he bombed a 6 on me to knock me out in 12th for 1000.00. So sick when I get close and 1st is $25,000.00. You have to get lucky and win races late though to win tourneys and it just wasn't my turn to shine that time. I did pretty well at 5/10NL which I've been splashing around a little in. It's tough to convince yourself "it's only money" when you raise your stakes up. I mean, it use to be bluffing 200.00 was a lot of money, but now, bluffing 1000.00 is what you have to do to be successful at higher stakes. I ended down 1850.00 yesterday, but still profited about 4K for the weekend, so it's overall a success.

Wifey okayed the trip to Ontario, Canada for next month, so have to go to book a hotel now. GL.

i think he was frustrated that I ran him over, but oh well, he sucks. Also pretty proud of the wifey as she played some 10+1 KO donkaments on FT and she did pretty good. 2 90 person donkaments and I helped her a bit at the final table of one of them and we ran AQ into AK 3 handed which sucked ass to finish 3rd for like 100 bucks or something so she was happy and sad at the same time. Sometimes you just run into a bigger hand and that's the way it goes. I'm still stuck a little bit on the month, but hopefully planning a trip to Fallsview in Ontario Canada to see Niagara falls and gambool it up a bit and see some sites next month. Hopefully the wife goes for it. we'll see. GL at the tables.

Weekend Review

Basically I sucked it up because I'm running awful, but whatever. I'm still in the hole like 2700 for January. I played some tournaments yesterday. The Bodog 30K, got it in 77 vs. QQ on a 764 flop, turn Q obv. joke. Then the 256.00 knockout, got it in with QQ on a Q 8 3 flop, vs. K8, runner runner flush. Yes, 96% favorite and a 95% favorite and lost both of them. The 750K, I overplayed 66 vs. 1010 and didn't get lucky on it. Oh well. Oh yeah and I played a 75.00 and got 3rd after AhQs < AsQh all in pre after a 4 flush comes out. That cost me a lot of money in sklansky bucks, but oh well. Just disgusting.

I've got this nasty cough/congestion going on. Not sure if it's the flu or what, but it makes me feel like ass and Nyquil sucks ass and tastes terrible and give me nightmares, but I hate being sick so I guess I gotta keep drinking it. National Championship game tonight LSU vs. Ohio State. Should be a good game.

Small session win

Put in a small session and booked a 900.00 win yesterday which was nice to have my first winning session of 2008. Only stuck like 4 g's now lol.

I think I'm coming down with the flu or some shit I dunno, but I feel terrible. Weather has been really freaky around here lately hot, cold, hot, cold, so that probably has something to do with it.

08 off to shitty start

Went camping with the wife for 2 night stay at Lake Kissimmee Park. Basically sit around a fire and drink lots of beer and listen to the rustles of the bushes. Was pretty fun, although we didn't catch any fish, we did see like 7 deer and some armadillos and an alligator. I tried to feed the deer some bread, but he ran away from me. :o( lol So after a 26Kish month of December I was excited to start grinding again for 2008 and really building the roll, but unfortunately I ran super sick bad while my opponents ran super sick good and I dropped around 2500.00, then tried to get it back playing 5/10 and dropped another 2000.00 or so. It was just a sick bad day yesterday and the day before. Oh well. Hopefully things turn around soon because I really don't want to go into another downswing because making 25K in a month was awesome. :oD
