probably tl;dr....
It's hard just talking to my blog and my wife about what I think about. I'm 27 and have a great life. I've been with the same company since I was 16 and make a measly 40K which is just okay money for a Floridian I suppose. There is no where else to move up and I will never make anymore money in this place. My 2 bosses are nice people, but then it's me and everyone below me and I hate them all. I found poker 3-4 years ago and picked up on it quite nicely and have moved up limits pretty quickly all while withdrawing nice sums of money and paying off lots of things and buying lots of nice things along the way. My wife is very supportive of poker (and enjoys playing .25/.50 as well!) which is awesome. We have no children, but look to start a family soon.
I made over 70K last year playing poker and I'm currently +70K this year which is just disgusting when you think about it. Poker has been a great blessing as we have zero debt, drive nice new trucks that are paid off and have zero credit card debt. Life is good. I've never said "no" to my wife about buying a new outfit or wanting to send her little sister something extra for her birthday or christmas. We take nice vacations and pay cash for them.
We have money in the bank (50K) and I have an online roll of 80K right now and play 5/10NL. But what is the problem???? I'm miserable at my day job. It's property management and I hate getting up at 7:30 or 8:00 to drive an hour to work, battle through traffic, just so I can sign on to my office computer and read up on NVG or BBV. I do what I have to do to get a paycheck, however I'm more interested in reading hands and taking different lines or who's winning and losing these days. I tell my wife this and she says, "so quit.", but what is holding me back? Does anyone else feel like this? I hit the door running at 5 p.m. just so I can make it home in time for the turbo 200 on Full Tilt. I play from 6 - 7:30p.m. until my wife gets home. She'll say, "how's it going today?" I'm always open and honest with her, "+2K, stuck 5K" whatever the answer is. So getting back to going "pro",
We won't be able to survive on just her pay and sometimes I think the pressure would be too much. Absolutely HAVING to make money to pay bills rather than having a "cushion" as my father says. My family has always been very supportive of my poker playing and my father always tells me how proud of me he is. When I mentioned to him I was really close to quitting my real job, he exploded and said you have to keep your cushion and leave poker as your bread and butter. The next day he sent me an e-mail and said I am a grown man and do what I think is best and he will support me no matter what. Poker does not bore me (although maybe it will doing it for a living?)
I've worked hard at putting in hands to build both our bank accounts and poker accounts and it's time to take the plunge... or is it?
Someone give me some advice. :(

Weekend Results
After a rough Saturday that made me breakeven, Sunday was pretty good. Ended +6K or so. Started out reading twoplustwo.com and in the BBV forum, a guy posted that he wanted to do a 150.00 flip at 1/2NL HU. So being the gambler that I am, I of course sit with him and flip and lose, so I reload for 200 and we flip again and I win! Then we flip again for his remaining 100 and bam.

Atleast his name is cool. I took a horrid beat in the Sunday Brawl. There was a shove, reraise and I have KK and reshove. The hands are flipped - K10, me KK, and AK. and of course, Ak makes a straight on the river and I'm busto. That was a 30K chip pot. Oh well. Didn't do anything in any other tournaments either. I love money though.

Facking tilt & doctor results
Went to my family doctor yesterday and she looked at my xrays and said separated shoulder between clavicle and ball joint or whatever. She made me do these arm bends and stuff and tested rotation. I can't put my arm behind my back which i guess is okay because who does stuff with their arms behind their back anyway, right? This sling is uncomfortable as fuck. I gotta get an MRI of tendons and muscles to see if anything is ripped or torn so that will be exciting.
Played 10/20NL vs. pepsiontherocks again last night. I'm rolled for it on Full tilt, but I only got like 20K on bodog which is 10 buy ins so if I run like sheet, i might busto the account. Well I drop 4K to him right away which obviously sucks, so I take a break, then drop another 2K buy in to him. :o( So I buy in for another 2K and run it up to over 10K. Won my biggest pot ever in the process over 7400.00. Then he got some back and he quit me when I had like 8 something on the table, so he won a little bit I think. I still ended down around 3K on the day which really sucks.
I'm going to cash some more out as we have a cruise coming up in June + my wife's birthday is coming up and I want to buy her something nice because she is the best. :o)
Looking to make tons this weekend hopefully as the 5/10 games on FT have been pretty good lately minus the f-ing shortstackers.

facking hurt myself. :o(
Had softball last night and hit a sweet pitch up the middle (hell yeah vikes!) and got a single. So the dude batting behind me line drives it to the shortstop so I slide head first back to the bag so they don't double me up, but my hand got caught on the side of the bag and i felt my shoulder go "pop" and knew it was all over. :o(
I had a bad shoulder injury in the 11th grade of high school (1997) lol where I went to dig a ball up in volleyball pancake style and dove for it while this other kid went for it too and he landed on my shoulder and popped it out, so I've never been the same since. (anyone feel bad for me yet?) lol It sucks because I don't have full range of motion in my strong arm so I can't throw a football or anything as well as others, but at least I still got speed!
So anyway, I slide head first back to first and get my hand caught and my shoulder goes pop and knew it was all over. My bro was coaching 1st base at the time and I just laid there on the ground like dead with my head on the bag. :o( He helped me up and then I turned white as a ghost and almost passed out. Good thing it was the end of the game. I got xrays this morning and there's a gap between the shoulder ball and acromion clavicle or something like that. I have to go to my family doctor this afternoon which will lead to an MRI and stuff.
Should be exciting. Anyone know where I can get a left-handed mouse? :oP

Another good short session
Played the 200 turbo again yesterday but busted early QQ < AK all in pre. Oh well. Fired up a few 5/10 6 max tables as well as a 4/8 deep table (buy in for 1600 rather than 800 = 200bbs). At the deep table, only 1 other guy was playing and my note on him is super bluffy, not scared to 3 barrel. We played 2 big pots, both with me holding the best hand and he quit me after me booking a 1300.00 win on him. I made a few other dollars at 5/10 and called it an early night. Winning every session is an awesome feeling.
A kid just posted the last 30 days results on Full Tilt for 2/4NL - 5/10NL - biggest winners and biggest losers. I'm #5 on the biggest winners list for 5/10NL only playing 12,800 hands good for 10.33BB/100 & profit of $25,930.55. I was on a massive heater, but I've really been studying the game hard, reading a ton of threads on various hands and watching Deucescracked.com videos.

Yesterday's short session
Pumped up to play the degen's delight 200 turbo at 6 p.m. which was 6 max for Monday night. Drew like 170 entrants. Doubled early and chipped up nicely. Someone pushed 96 into my 99 which was nice.... Chipped up to around 23K with 15 left. Full Tilt pro eddy scharf minraises from the button and I should have shoved K5s on him, but I'm dumb and called? wtf, so bad, don't ever do that. Flop K 9 3, check, check, turn 3, I lead, he shoves and I call (another dumb move) and he has top 2 obv. and I'm crippled down to 333 chips. I somehow get up to 7K again, but finish 10th after shoving into aces - paid 721.00 or something dumb. Made like 800 5 tabling 5/10 6 max at the time time. Won a huge QQ vs. AK flip for 2600+ pot or else I would have been stuck a bunch.
Softball tomorrow. woot. I got 2 hits last week, so I'm 2 for 13 on the season. lol it's harder than it looks fackers.

Ended up with over 600 entrants, prize pool 97K or something like that. I ran pretty well and lost a 400K chip pot flip 66 vs. AJ and finished 6th for 4600 or something stupid when 1st was 24000.00 Oh well...
i got a 1K transfer from a friend on Stars, but busted that quickly cause Stars is such a f-in joke obv.

Booked a small win
Booked a small win yesterday of around 1K which was nice. Also cashed out a few hundred of rakeback which was nice as well. I was just donking around at 2/4NL HU until the wife got home and I ran pretty well. I have some friends coming in from out of town this weekend so I'm not sure how much I'll get to play. I'm also putting some money back on Stars to give it another shot. I may just play HU cash games to build a roll on there (only starting with like 1K) and I'll probably play the 215.00HU matches because I rule at HU. We'll see how it goes. I predict I'll end up deleting it from my machine again though. lol

Big Loss :o(
I played that guy again at 10/20 and I lost 7K in like 30 minutes. :o(
He ran like God mode. he raises to 60, I reraise to 180 with A9, flop 9 4 2 and he has 94 obv. It was sick. :o(
i don't feel like writing about it, but it hurts a bit.
I played later that night, some 5/10 and got 2500 back, but i hate when the fishies win.

I final tabled the Bodog 100K Sunday, but finished 10th. It was so disgusting how card dead I was with 40 to go. Absolutely nothing, then I shove K3 and of course dude wakes up with AK. 1100.00 when 1st is 25K. :o(

Gave a lot of it back when I called 1560.00 bet on the river with 2nd pair and was wrong. :o( Then I quit him +3K I lost a lot on Full Tilt yesterday - like 5K or something. :o( But fortunately was up like 7K on Bodog. lol 2K profit
I final tabled the Bodog 100K Sunday, but finished 10th. It was so disgusting how card dead I was with 40 to go. Absolutely nothing, then I shove K3 and of course dude wakes up with AK. 1100.00 when 1st is 25K. :o(

Interesting Hand
Thought this hand was interesting to post. I've been playing 5/10NL lately and results are good.
Villian is SmartLag - I know who he is, but I doubt he knows who I am as I primarily play HU and have just started playing 6 max again and just moved up to 5/10NL. For all he knows, I'm a fish lol. His standard open is 40.00 while most is 30.00 or 35.00 so I decide to play it super passive. Should I be raising somewhere? Play it the same vs. an aggro like him?

blah - money
Didn't play yesterday because it was softball day. I even went to the batting cages beforehand and still sucked it up. :o( We were winning 11-1 in the 2nd inning and ended up losing 17-14. Very disappointing because we were playing a bunch of thugs who were talking mad smack to us and everything too. Whatever though....
I got my updated 401K statement in the mail today. I've lost 9.2% this year even though I'm still contributing to it. wtf? Shows that the whole market sucks donkeys right now. Hopefully things turn around soon. What's even more terrible is the housing market. I mean, it hasn't fallen completely on it's face, but it's pretty close to rock bottom. When we bought our house 18 months ago, it was the peak of the market and we paid 257K for it (new construction) and now the sign at the front of the neighborhood says "from the 170s" which is really disheartening. If we break even on this house it would be a miracle, but fortunately we have money from the other house sale + poker monies if all else fails.
I'd honestly love to buy another house, but it's too risky at this time + if the wife gets pregnant, we'll only have 1 income rolling in as she plans to take a lot of time off work which I support.
I think I'm going to play some golf on Saturday with the wife's brother. Rates are insanely high right now. We might go check out this new bar at City Walk that's called Rising Star. Basically it's a high class baller karaoke bar, but there's a live band that plays behind you. Pretty sick set up. We'll see though.
Peace out,
Mover

Studying helps
I broke down and joined Deucescracked.com a while ago. I never really believed in the training sites as I thought it was a way for the rich to get richer by suckering the fish into buying memberships to make them think they are going to get better at poker, but honestly, I'm really glad I joined. I chose DC because it's smaller and has players that cater to HU which is where I spend most of my time on Full Tilt. Krantz and whitelime are sickos and do a great job explaining their thought processes, etc.. and why they make certain moves when they do and it all makes sense. As I move up in limits, there are more regs and less fish so the games are of course harder to beat. The games have been flooded with regs lately so I played some more 6 max last night 5/10NL - I had just finished watching Foxwood Fiend's moving on up series which he plays 3/6NL 6 max. I played for about 2 hours or so and was +3100.00. :o) Pretty good session, imo! People try to do fancy dumb shit there like minraise with air or bluff raise the river, bluff raise the turn, etc... I don't understand their thinking process but whatever. I'll post some hands later on that I thought were interesting, but until then, I'll do my best to move on up! Almost ready for a 10/20NL shot :oO

Awesome hand I had to post
oh a lighter note: I'm the worst flipper in tournaments, but anyway, F YOU minraises! LOOOOL
F you minraisers, I got nothing, ALL IN, oh my, it worked, imo. The swings are nasty. I lost (2) 3.6K pots yesterday - Raise QQ to 35.00 SS shoves 212.00, BB flats 212, I reshove 1400 and he calls with JJ, SS has 99, Flop Jxx standard :o(
Other hand AA at this 4/8 deep table with 1800 behind. Animal raises, I repot. Flop 7 x x, pot, call, pot call, river 8, I shove, he snaps with 78. :o( Still ended up a little though. So swingy...

Took a shot at 10/20NL HU
So Full Tilt is down and I didn't feel like playing hold em cause the games were all regs, so i played some 600PL omaha and won like 2K, then i took a break for dinner and fired it up again and everyone's damn draws kept hitting and I gave it all back so I decided to play 10/20nl HU vs. Bodog's highest baller Harrington25 and this is the results:

Haven’t played a HU hand this month yet while I have buddies posting +10K graphs already lol.
We had our 2nd softball game last night. I was already hurting from last week still and this MF slid into my leg at home (I’m the donkey catcher) and hurt it some more. We were up 2-0 after the first inning, then got massacred after that and they called it after 5 innings 12-2. We couldn’t hit, field, throw, pitch, nothing. One of our players got hurt, so I moved to 2nd base. Kevin threw his like 10th error of the game over the 1st baseman’s head then he chucked it to me and this dude slides into me forearms 1st and knocks me over, but I hang on to the ball and he’s called out. I mean, this is a D league softball league so the players aren’t that good, but my Dad comes running over steaming saying, "WTF Buddy, don’t you know how to slide?", then my bro runs over and like chest bumps the dude and says, "yeah man, how about I punch you in the face" lol The dude said sorry right away and asked if I was okay but I guess they didn’t hear it. We were already down 10-2 so everyone was pretty pissed but whatever. I just try to have a good time and get some exercise. I hit my first one almost to the fence but the dude caught it, then I flew out again, so I’m 0-5 on the season. :o(
I came home had a few beers by myself as the wife was already sleeping and put this monster bag of ice on my leg that is hurt lol. I’m such a pussy.

1st quarter stats
Goal at the beginning of the last year was to make over 100K which I successfully did. :o)
At the beginning of this year, I upped it to 150K. I finished running the numbers for 1st quarter (and I also got to move up limits woot) and so far it's.....
+42.3K so I'm on my way..... :oD
